The 13th Annual Nanticoke River Shad Festival will be held on Saturday April 26, 2008 from 10:00 AM until 4:00 PM on and around the Vienna waterfront.

The event is hosted by the Nanticoke Watershed Alliance, the Town of Vienna, the Chicone Ruritan Club and the Chesapeake Bay Program's Heart of the Chesapeake Bay Project.

Live music and entertainment during the festivities will be provided on stage near the river by Bittercreek, the Chester River Runoff and Bruce Hutton.

Chicone Ruritan Planked Shad

Delicious "Planked Shad" will be prepared by the Chicone Ruritan Club and available around noon, along with many other foods and drinks from other organizations and vendors throughout the day.

Family Fun and Activities

We will have arts and crafts, exhibits and vendors all along the waterfront. There will be special activities and games for the children, historical artifacts and displays, and the popular Nanticoke River boat rides will return.

Free admission
