Archeology Day at the Museum

On Saturday, April 11 from 10:00 AM until 4:00 PM the Vienna Heritage Museum will celebrate Archeology month by hosting a special discovery day event open to the public.

Richard Hughes former Maryland State Archeologist, Dr. Elizabeth Ragan Archeology Professor at Salisbury University and Dr. Virginia Busby will be on hand to ID artifacts.

Local collector Terry Crannell will have a display of artifacts from the Vienna area. The premise of this event is to encourage responsible Artifact Identification and handling.

Bring your artifacts to be identified and learn the proper techniques for recording and preserving. You will also learn the proper ways to report your findings and to whom they should be reported. There is no charge for this service.
